This was never about parties, this about cleaning house on both sides. I do think however there are less corrupt republicans. The last few decades the democrats have been balls deep in the worse of it all. Same with republicans however.
As for why did trump himself run as a republican and not as a third party? Because honestly most people who do love their country and want only the best for it are republicans, and if only because not being aware of the bigger picture (auto pilot mode in life). It was a smart move and the establishment wants nothing to do with him which has pretty much been established with how often they are willing to stab PoTUS in the back when the chance is given. The truth is the well intended sheep would have not listened to him and his message because an R did not follow after his name. What we are seeing now days is people becoming fully aware of the entire picture. Make no mistake there will be no two party system after the storm and once its passed the letter after a candidate's name won't matter as their actions and what they stand on will, as it should be.
