Hey anons, went over to a popular nursing forum to check out what RNs are saying about the Corona. Pics related.
Answer is, it’s not NEARLY as bad as what the media is making it out to be. Lots of stress over the unknown, daily changes of strategy, actual shortage of PPE.. but you know what they’re not facing? A total influx of patients. ERs are “quiet.” Sure, some facilities have had deaths/patients on vents, but that's par for the course. Floors are emptied out for the Corona patients, but they’re not filling up and nurses are being called off work because of low census. Many seem to think a big surge is coming though.
Most places have cancelled elective procedures, but I was struck at how quiet RNs stated their facilities were. Some think it's total media hype (hard to find based RNs, we stay quiet). A couple even said it was “the calm before the storm.” Stay safe everyone. Over and out.
