Rome, Italy fag here. Have been having trouble posting, don't know why but hope this time it works.

Question for you all: does ANY of you know someone who's caught this virus? I'm not the only one asking. Here in Rome, the capitol and largest city in Italy there are almost zero cases, yet everything's getting stricter and stricter every day. Our official stats are skewed because they bring sick people from other cities to Rome, where the nation's premier hospital for infectious diseases (Spallanzani) is located. If you see a number of cases for "Rome," they aren't all Romans by a long shot.

Italians are noticing that while comfy, well fed elderly Italians are dropping from this virus like flies … the homeless population, living outside in the cold, eating crap food and sitting in groups together two inches apart, so far all are healthy. Wtf?

Also, I have asked locals if they've heard of Chloraquine and NOBODY has. Wtf? Yesterday (Friday March 27), I saw it mentioned for the first time in a news post, buried with a list of other drugs that have just now been approved for use by the medieval socialized medical system here.

Yet the Chinese sent a team to Italy at least a week ago, to "advise" the govt on how best to handle things–and didn't the Chinese do tests showing that Chloraquine works? So again, wtf?

Sorry if this sounds scattered. My point is, I'm not denying the existence of this thing, but shit just doesn't add up. If you have answers with sauce, please share, ty

Also, let me point out that northern Italy, where the virus is raging, is the #1 most productive region of Europe, even more than Germany (!). If Italy goes down, it will pull the EU down with it. And I'm wondering if that's ((their)) plan?
