Could it be possible that the Comfort and the Mercy are being moved to LA and NYC to treat American soldiers? There is a lot of movement of troops around the country and talk of closing some areas off on the east coast. Could it in preparation of fighting in these areas? Not trying to fear monger, it just popped in my head as a possibility.
that would make sense if Ops on and urban warfare ensues, that would be a good base to retreat to, hold the port and pier.

if we did engage Ops in a city under jurisdiction of gov, having a seagoing vessel in or out of port certainly would remove that vessel from jurisdiction of governor?
even if we had legal rights treating operators on land within an incorporated city that could lead to legal challenges more so than on a seagoing vessel which operates under a very clear legal jurisdiction (not sure what it exactly is, not a maritime lawfag but thats my understanding)
would it make sense to have a MIL hospital at port during exercises/ops?

could be true, but our legal system based upon english common law uses court precedents to also establish law. so my guess as a non lawfag woul dbe to find codified law or statutory law and successfully argue a case in court, codified law should take priority, but judges as we know are prone to interpret law when presented with multiple options.
