Johnson & Johnson, U.S. government plan one billion doses of coronavirus vaccine
(Reuters) - Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N) said on Monday it made a $1 billion deal with the U.S. government to create enough manufacturing capacity for more than 1 billion doses of a vaccine it is testing to fight the new coronavirus that has killed more than 34,000 people around the world.
Johnson and Johnson said that it had selected its own lead vaccine candidate and would start human testing of its experimental coronavirus vaccine by September, with an eye on having it ready for emergency use in early 2021, the drugmaker said on Monday.
J&J said that the first batches of a vaccine could be available under an emergency use authorization in early 2021, far quicker than the typical 18 month period that it takes for vaccines to be tested, approved and then manufactured

When a crisis hits and a massive legislative package is organized to meet it, it's never surprising when Democrats go to supporting their own media assets. So there on page 746 of the 854-page "stimulus" bill is a provision granting $75 million to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting “to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, including for fiscal stabilization grants to public telecommunications entities."
This isn't about keeping the public informed, since every other news network is offering coronavirus information nearly 24/7. This is about maintaining the PBS and NPR stations. The bill directs the CPB to take out "no administrative costs" to pass the money along, “to maintain programming and services and preserve small and rural stations threatened by declines in non-Federal revenues.”

Fox News host Bartiromo asked, “You said the next two months. And Secretary Mnuchin said the same thing, 10 to 12 weeks, to address the dislocation, just in the next 10 to 12 weeks. So, does that mean we’re getting another stimulus, a fourth package after the next 10 to 12 weeks?”
McCarthy responded saying, “I’m not sure we need a fourth package. And before we go to start drafting a forth package, I’d like these three packages we just put out — remember, it’s more than $2 trillion, the largest we have ever seen — to take care and get this economy moving. Remember, for unemployment insurance, we’re adding another $600 above what your state pays.”

'We'll go our own way': North Korea says it 'dropped interest' in talks with US after Pompeo's call for more pressure
North Korea said it has lost faith in dialogue with Washington after "reckless" US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called for more pressure on Pyongyang.
In statement published by the state-run Korean Central News Agency on Monday, an unnamed North Korean diplomat in charge of the talks with the US warned that the country will continue working on "our important planned projects aimed to repay the US with actual horror and unrest for the sufferings it has inflicted upon our people."
"We will go our own way. We want the US not to bother us," the official said.

Report: DOJ Is Probing Sen Richard Burr’s Stock Trades
The Justice Department is probing a series of stock trades that Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr made in the weeks after receiving briefings about the coronavirus pandemic, CNN reported.
The Justice Department is coordinating with the Securities and Exchange Commission on the matter, and the FBI has contacted Barr, a North Carolina Republican, according to CNN, which cited two people familiar with the matter.
On March 19, ProPublica reported that Burr sold between $628,000 and $1.72 million worth of shares in various companies on Feb. 13. The stock market was near its all-time high when Burr made the trades. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has fallen more than 35% since then as the pandemic spreads across the globe.
