Comment by sister-in-law about Daniel Birx plane crash

>20 years after he died!

Terri Stewart Aug 1, 2019 at 3:19 am

"My brother in law Daniel Birx built a Vans RV-6. On March 27, 2000

my Sister Karen and her husband Dan crashed the plane in Taft Ca.

The NTSB says they don’t know why the accident happened. I think

I know why the crash happened. It has been 20 years and I’m still

having a hard time dealing with this."

Thank you

>Whilst digging for ties to [Deborah L. Birx], [Laura Birx] popped up.

Laura Birx - Gates Foundation

Laura Birx, the only program officer at the Gates Foundation who works on both the Nutrition and Agricultural Development teams, explained how the increased focus on nutrition at the foundation will lead to more projects like “scuba” rice.

“Previously, we didn’t have a shared goal. Now we do — that goal is ensuring equitable access to safe, affordable, nutritious diets year-round," she told Devex in a foundation conference room with a view of the Space Needle. "While the money is helpful, that shared goal opens so many doors for us, even more so than the money.”

Birx, who previously worked as senior nutrition advisor at USAID, explained that the foundation approaches the agriculture and nutrition connection through different pathways, finding numerous intersections with other priority areas. Household economics, health and women’s empowerment are key areas of overlap.

“For us, there's not a single program we have currently or will have in food systems that doesn't have a major component on empowering women,” she said.

Swearing-in Ceremony for [Deborah (Debbi) L. Birx]

(Father Dan McDonald) We are privileged to have the Secretary of State, the Honorable John Kerry, officiating our ceremony this morning and we are so pleased to welcome Ambassador Birx's family here today, including her parents Donald and Adele and her daughters Danielle and Devynn. I would also like to recognize their longtime family friend, Father Dan McDonald, as well as Deputy Secretary of State Heather Higginbottom, Administrator Raj Shah from USAID, and members of the diplomatic corps present today. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to all of our special guests.

[KERRY] And I'm particularly pleased to welcome her very modest family that's here – (laughter) – enormous. We're really happy to welcome Dr. Donald and Adele Birx, her parents, her brother Donald, and her daughters, Danielle and Devynn. And we're really happy. Where are they? They're still over there. They're going to come up here afterwards. All right. Welcome. (Applause.)

It's now my great privilege to make this official using the family Bible, which I had the privilege of signing a little while ago. It has all the births and deaths and marriages of the Birx family carefully inscribed in its pages. And you'll see it's pretty sizeable. (Laughter.) It's a big family. It's a big family, folks. All right. Are we ready?
