Congratulations, Ben Pearce. You've made the list.

Ben Pearce cancels all 2016 gigs, citing mental illness

The UK DJ says he is "taking the steps necessary to make an attempt at recovery."

Ben Pearce has canceled all of his appearance this year due to mental health issues.

The producer behind 2012 house hit "What Might I Do" took to Facebook today to detail his recent battle with anxiety and depression. "It has nearly pushed me to saying goodbye altogether a few times and now more than ever I feel that is a huge risk," he wrote. "It can be easy to hide behind your social media or intoxicants and pretend it isn't happening but that doesn't help in the long run." Pearce has pulled out of all of his 2016 gigs in order to focus on returning to a "healthy mental state of mind." He thanked his fans and fellow artists for their continued support: "you're the only reason I'm not still working in a call centre and do not for one second think I am not extremely grateful for that."

After cancelling all gigs for mental health reasons, Ben Pearce to DJ in Vienna

The UK producer says "new music should be on the way soon."

Ben Pearce, who recently pulled out of all upcoming gigs due to mental health issues, will DJ in Vienna this weekend.

The UK DJ/producer cancelled all his remaining 2016 gigs in July, citing a "battle with depression" as the reason. Pearce, who was behind popular 2012 house cut "What Might I Do," announced over Facebok today that he's tentatively looking to get back in the DJ arena, beginning with a gig at Pratersauna this Saturday, September 24th. "It's a big step but a small one for now in terms of touring," Pearce wrote. "But I'm feeling good about it." He also revealed that new productions "should be on the way."

I just want to say a huge thank you to anyone who commented on my previous post & sent messages. I will try to reply to them but I have read most & they mean an awful lot.

I'm back DJ-ing this weekend in Vienna, it's a big step but a small one for now in terms of touring but I'm feeling good about it. Just wanted to let you guys know and say thanks for all the positivity. New music should be on the way soon. 3 months ago I never thought I would even get to where I am now, it's not the end of the road I know but what I've done has made a huge difference.

Finally to anyone out there who is struggling: don't be ashamed or afraid get help, talk about it, trust in your friends and family and love yourself, do anything that makes you smile. You can beat it, it will pass & even if it never goes away, sometimes seeing the world from that angle forms who you are as a person and gives you a clarity you might not have had before.

Now let's see if I can remember how to beatmatch…
