Is darkness actual physical darkness, absence of light?
Or is it spiritual darkness where at the end of 10 days people will realize something they did not realize before?
Or does it refer to the people who do evil, c.f. "And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil."
or maybe Eph. 6:12:
