There are a lot of Bible verses concerning PAIN/COMFORT, fren, so I will have to apologize in advance for limiting to a few that I personally found relevant. Here they are:
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
1 Peter 4:12-19 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. …
Job 30:17 The night racks my bones, and the pain that gnaws me takes no rest.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
1 Peter 4:19 Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.
Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
What I derive from this is that we suffer pain either as a form of discipline to get our attention and make us change, or to make us grow physically stronger by overcoming it. At least, if we're in the right frame of mind (WHERE DOES OUR COMFORT COME FROM? THERE IS ONLY ONE RIGHT ANSWER.)
Others who inflict pain do so at their cruel pleasure, and it is not without punishment.
So the Bible speaks to PAIN/COMFORT in ways some people might find direct, others may find to be oblique. We're all familiar with that, huh?
God bless y'all, Brothers.
