Former President Barack Obama commented on the COVID-19 Chinese coronavirus crisis Tuesday, posting on Twitter a veiled shot at President Donald Trump and comparing so-called coronavirus denial to climate change denial and urging young people to “vote this fall”.

Obama used a Los Angeles Times report that the Trump administration is relaxing fuel economy standards set by the his administration in 2012 to take his shot at Trump.

“We’ve seen all too terribly the consequences of those who denied warnings of a pandemic. We can’t afford any more consequences of climate denial. All of us, especially young people, have to demand better of our government at every level and vote this fall.”

Trump and his administration have been responding to the coronavirus threat since early January while Democrats and the media were trying to remove him from office with the sham Ukraine impeachment trial. That has not stopped the media and Democrats like Obama from falsely accusing Trump of denying warnings of the looming pandemic.

Hospitals Firing Doctors Who Talk To The Press

US Health care systems have warned emergency room doctors and nurses that if they speak out about working conditions inside a hospital, they will be fired, reported Bloomberg.

Ming Lin, an emergency room physician in Washington state, lost his job last week after he spoke to a local media outlet about the lack of protective gear for staff at Puget Sound area hospitals.

Hospital staff at the NYU Langone Health system were recently warned that if they spoke to the media without authorization, they would be terminated.

"Hospitals are muzzling nurses and other health-care workers in an attempt to preserve their image," said Ruth Schubert, a spokeswoman for the Washington State Nurses Association. "It is outrageous."

With confirmed virus cases over 163,000 and 3,170 deaths, hospital systems across the country are seeing a massive influx of patients that is straining the system.

Pelosi Makes Tax Break For Millionaires A Priority In Fourth Stimulus Package

While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi talks endlessly about helping working Americans, she’s quietly making an effort to get millions of dollars for millionaires.

Pelosi is proposing a rollback cap on state and local tax (SALT) deductions as part of the next coronavirus stimulus bill.

“A 2019 report from the Joint Committee on Taxation projected that of those who would face lower tax liability from elimination of the cap – which only affects those who itemize tax deductions – 94 percent earn at least $100,000,” Fox News reports. “The government would lose out on $77.4 billion in tax dollars, with more than half of that amount being saved by taxpayers earning $1 million or more.”

The SALT cap, established by President Trump in 2017 as part of his tax reform law, sets the limit for deductions of state and local tax from federal taxes at $10,000. Many residents of states that routinely vote for Democrats dislike the limit.

Pelosi says the move — which would include making it retroactive for the tax years of 2018 and 2019 — would give Americans “more disposable income, which is the lifeblood of our economy, a consumer economy that we are.”

But Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said it’s a terrible idea.

“This is a nonstarter. Millionaires don’t need a new tax break as the federal government spends trillions of dollars to fight a pandemic,” a spokesperson for Grassley told Fox.

New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Connecticut even sued to repeal the SALT cap, claiming that it unfairly hit blue states. That lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge, and the states are appealing.

Many wealthy residents have been moving out of those states and fleeing to states like Florida, which has no state income tax. Florida received more new residents than any other state last year, while New York’s outflows to the Sunshine State were the highest – 63,772 people. New York had the third-largest outflows of any state, with 452,580 people moving out within the past year.

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has suggested that if the states want to prevent this from happening, they should lower their taxes.

Attempted coup & assassinations: Venezuelan prosecutors subpoena Guaido as ‘among main perpetrators’ in US-backed regime-change op

Venezuela’s prosecutors have summoned Juan Guaido over his role in the “attempted coup d’etat,” as well as in alleged assassination attempts. Guaido is the main figure in US-backed efforts to oust President Nicolas Maduro.

The move was announced by Attorney General Tarek William Saab on Tuesday in a televised speech. The official described Guaido as “one of the main perpetrators” of a "new" attempted coup.

The move comes after a cache of weaponry, said to be smuggled into Venezuela, was seized in neighboring Colombia last week.

“As part of last week's initial investigation into an attempted coup and assassination, following the unveiling of an arsenal of war, we have issued a summons for one of those responsible to appear next Thursday in the Prosecutor's Office,” Saab stated.

Opposition leader Juan Guaido proclaimed himself Venezuela’s “interim president” back then, trying to oust the sitting president, Nicolas Maduro. The takeover effort received broad support from the US and its allies, who rushed to recognize Guaido as the ‘legitimate’ leader of Venezuela.

However, repeated attempts to dislodge Maduro from power, including mass-protests, a failed military coup and a thinly-veiled yet persistent threat of a US-backed invasion, have been unsuccessful so far.

Guaido’s subpoena comes shortly after Washington again ramped up its anti-Maduro game and indicted Venezuela’s president on drug charges. The Venezuelan foreign ministry has brushed off the allegations as “a new form of coup d’etat” that just showed the “desperation” of the “Washington elite.”

High Level Child Rapists Released from Prison Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

Greece, NY — Over the past two weeks, non-violent inmates have been released from prisons across the country in an attempt to prevent massive outbreaks behind bars. Some law enforcement officials have raised concerns over releasing people in jail for marijuana possession, but they’ve largely been ignored thanks to common sense. However, law enforcement sources in New York are now justified in their concerns as child rapists have been released.

The number of guards and inmates testing positive for COVID-19 continues to rise across the country. As we reported earlier this month, it was only a matter of time before someone who is not exhibiting symptoms brings it in to one of the many prisons across the country. As the multiple cruise ship outbreaks illustrate, once the virus enters a closed space, it explodes and not just on the cruise ship.

The LA Times reported on how this happened in China and and Italy and caused a massive reverberation throughout the two countries.

In China, a decline in new infections was quickly (although briefly) reversed because of rapid outbreaks in two prisons. In Italy, an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among prison inmates over the virus, together with an emergency ban on visitors, sparked deadly riots, escapes and a complete breakdown of authority.

Having watched this horror unfold, Iranians decided to release tens of thousands of prisoners as a precautionary measure. The United States is now following suit.

Across the country, cities who have been paying attention and know the risk have been moving to set prisoners free. In LA county, inmates with 30 days or less on their sentences are being set free. Sheriff Alex Villanueva stated that the department will also limit arrests to only dangerous suspects, decreasing the re-entry level. Also, anyone with a bail of $50,000 or less is being let out.

In New York, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said low-level offenses that don’t jeopardize public safety will not be prosecuted at all during the coronavirus outbreak. Authorities are also moving to release certain demographics from the prisons as well.

In Greece, New York, however, officials just announced that they will be releasing child rapists, raising concerns among many.

Multiple sex offenders have been released from the Monroe County Jail as part of a statewide order coming from The Department of Corrections and Community Services– or DOCCS.

The department said in their statement to WROC, “This significant action is being taken in response to a growing number of COVID-19 cases in local jails over the past few days and weeks. Our top priority remains the public health and safety of New Yorkers during this global public health emergency and this measure will further protect a vulnerable population from contracting and transmitting this infectious disease.”

But will releasing level 3 sex offenders who have been convicted of violently raping children and are categorized as most likely to re-offend, actually protect the health and safety of New Yorkers? The local cops don’t think so.

“It doesn’t make any sense. If you could present an argument to me that makes sense, I’m willing to listen. But this doesn’t make any sense,” Patrick Phelan, the Greece Chief of Police, said.

US military will send ‘MORTUARY services’ staff to New York to cope with Covid-19 deaths as FEMA deploys mobile morgue trucks

The Pentagon will station a team of mortuary workers in New York to deal with the state’s fast-climbing coronavirus death toll, while FEMA plans to send some 85 trucks to free up space in its crowded morgues.

With nearly 7,000 new cases of the virus and 155 deaths on Monday alone, New York is by far America’s hardest-hit state in the Covid-19 pandemic, counting over 66,000 infections and more than 1,200 fatalities in total. The massive influx of patients and deaths has reportedly overwhelmed the state’s hospitals and morgues, prompting federal agencies – including the military – to send in reinforcements.

“We did receive a mission assignment from FEMA [the Federal Emergency Management Agency] for a mortuary affairs support team for New York and we’re in the process of sourcing some personnel,” Major General Jeff Taliaferro, vice director for operations at the Joint Staff, told reporters on Monday.

While Taliaferro gave few additional details about the new deployment, FEMA regional director Thomas Von Essen said 42 military personnel would be sent to assist the Manhattan Medical Examiner’s Office with fatalities in New York City, the heart of the state’s outbreak.

Von Essen also announced plans to ship in 85 refrigerated trucks to double NYC’s morgue capacity from 3,500 to 7,000, but noted the trucks would only offer “temporary” relief to the city, which separately has also purchased 45 mobile morgue trucks.

The US Navy now has a presence in New York as well, with a 1,000-bed medical ship arriving at a Manhattan port on Monday to help take pressure off its hospitals, pushed to the brink of collapse due to a record number of emergency calls – over 7,000 on some days – and a severe shortage of equipment and protective gear. The ship, the USNS Comfort, will treat non-coronavirus patients, in hopes of freeing up beds in the city’s healthcare facilities.

Self-isolating British PM Boris Johnson has been left red-faced after making his UK cabinet Zoom meeting ID public on social media, prompting some to cheekily suggest they’ll join in next time if they can guess the password.

Johnson tweeted a screenshot of his Zoom meeting on Tuesday afternoon, in which ministers and key officials all appeared on a single screen via the video conferencing app to discuss the coronavirus crisis.

However, eagle-eyed observers, like Virgin Media News’ Richard Chambers, noticed that Johnson had been somewhat slack in maintaining tight security protocols by failing to hide the private ID number to access the meeting. It left many on Twitter dumbfounded that the prime minister could commit such a gaffe.

Johnson, Health Secretary Matt Hancock and England’s chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty are currently self-isolating after developing Covid-19 symptoms. The latest official UK figures indicate that 25,150 have tested positive for the coronavirus infection, with 1,789 resultant deaths so far.

Donald Trump: Phase Four of Coronavirus Rescue Should Be $2 Trillion Infrastructure Bill

President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced that he wanted Congress to pass a $2 trillion infrastructure bill to strengthen the economy during the coronavirus crisis.

“With interest rates for the United States being at ZERO, this is the time to do our decades long awaited Infrastructure Bill,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

The president described the proposed bill as “Phase 4” and proposed spending another $2 trillion on replacing infrastructure.

“It should be VERY BIG & BOLD, Two Trillion Dollars, and be focused solely on jobs and rebuilding the once great infrastructure of our Country!” he wrote.

The first coronavirus emergency bill was $8.2 billion, the second cost over $150 billion, and the third was over $2 trillion.

Trump has long pushed for a big $2 trillion infrastructure bill, but partisan pursuits from House and Senate Democrats have left the concept mired in limbo.

In January, House Democrats unveiled a $750 billion infrastructure bill to help rebuild roads and bridges but included an expensive electric vehicle charging network and carbon reduction. The Senate also has proposed a $287 billion infrastructure bill for repairing highways, bridges, and tunnels.

Why Does ‘Sunscreen’ Appear 49 Times In The $2 Trillion Coronavirus Relief Package?

The $2 trillion coronavirus relief package passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump mentions the word sunscreen 49 times, but why is that? How could that help fight the coronavirus as the deadly disease continues to spread throughout the U.S.?

The Treatment of Sunscreen Innovation Act, which benefits large manufacturers in Kentucky — where Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is up for re-election in November — was placed into the coronavirus stimulus package.

Right before the bill passed, the French cosmetics company L’Oréal, which has factories in Kentucky, announced they will be donating a ton of supplies and services to those affected by the coronavirus.

“L’Oréal USA today announced a multi-faceted initiative to support Americans during the COVID-19 outbreak and recovery. This commitment is made in addition to L’Oréal’s Europe-wide Coronavirus Solidarity Program, which includes a one-million euro donation to non-profit organizations across Europe,” the company said in a press release Thursday.

The Daily Caller contacted those who could have knowledge of the issue and spoke to Rachel Bovard, the Senior Director of Policy at the Conservative Partnership Institute.

“The word ‘sunscreen’ appears in an emergency coronavirus relief bill 49 times. It’s unclear what this bill has to do with helping workers and families impacted by this public health crisis — except to say that powerful members of Congress are skilled in never letting a crisis go to waste,” Bovard told the Daily Caller.

France: Doctors sue the government for lying

French doctors have filed a lawsuit against several French officials for lying about the government’s preparedness for the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

More than 600 doctors have formed a group called C19, and filed the lawsuit on March 19. Prime Minister Édouard Philippe and former Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn, who resigned in February in order to be eligible to run for Mayor of Paris, are named in the complaint, according to a report at Europost.

The doctors have charged that the ministers were derelict in their duty by not making sure that the country’s hospitals had sufficient medical equipment and resources on hand in anticipation of the crisis, despite knowing that it was imminent, and for assuring the public that the healthcare system was prepared. Buzyn acknowledged in an interview with Le Monde that when she submitted her resignation in January that she knew there was an “impending tsunami.”

The suit will first be examined by a special commission that has the power to reject it. But if the ministers are found guilty, they could face two years in prison and a €30,000 fine.

Like many countries, France found itself with a critical shortage of FFP2 health masks, which are regarded as safer than basic surgical masks, when the crisis began to unfold. This has been further exacerbated by a number of break-ins during which masks and other medical equipment were stolen.

The new Minister of Health, Olvier Veran, has stated that the government has ordered 250 million more FFP2 masks, in addition to the 86 million already in storage. However, this may not be enough if the pandemic lasts a long time. Veran has called on researchers and manufacturers to develop alternative protective gear that can be produced quickly within France itself.

The problem of medical supply shortages has become acute across Europe since the outbreak began. Countries have been accused of preventing needed supplies from reaching other countries, as previously reported by Voice of Europe. The Belgian government was also defrauded by a Turkish mask supplier earlier this month as it struggles to deal with the issue.

Austria Declares Wearing Masks Mandatory in Supermarkets

Austria has introduced measures to halt the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus, including making it mandatory to wear masks in supermarkets.

The government, led by Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, announced the measures this week stating that protective masks would be handed out to the public at the entrances of supermarkets and must be worn while shopping.

Chancellor Kurz stated that masks were still no substitute for keeping a safe distance from others and, according to newspaper Kronen Zeitung, stated: “I am fully aware that masks are something foreign to our culture.”

Minister of Health Rudolf Anschober, a member of the Green Party, added that the masks would only be effective for a period of about four hours and that they would help make sure the capacity of hospitals was not overwhelmed.

The government has also ordered a large part of the tourism sector to shut down, with a ban on overnight stays in hotels and guest houses.

Kurz added that Austria’s hospitals could become overwhelmed within the next two weeks with just 1,071 intensive care beds still available across the country and 908 ventilators.

“How long the overload lasts, especially in intensive care medicine, depends on all of us. It is already clear that many people will die from this disease. But we have to do our utmost to ensure that no more people die than have to die,” Kurz said.

Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler, leader of the Green Party, added that he saw the current situation as a “calm before the storm” and said: “If we listen to the experts, I am in favour of orienting ourselves to those who draw the more dramatic scenarios.”

Despite sharing a border with Italy, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak in Europe, Austria has managed to keep cases at just over 9,000 as of Monday with 108 deaths.

Italy, by contrast, continues to see growth in cases and deaths, with over 100,000 confirmed cases and 11,591 deaths as of Monday.

Hungary to UN: If You Can’t Help Us Fight Pandemic, Get Out of the Way

The Hungarian government has hit back at the United Nations and other globalist organisations over criticism of its anti-coronavirus policies.

“The Hungarian government’s primary concern during the coronavirus pandemic is the protection of human lives,” insisted Dr Zoltán Kovács, Hungary’s Secretary of State for International Communication and Relations, in an official blog post.

“Those voicing unfounded claims about our management of this crisis threatening democracy and the rule of law in Hungary are fighting an imaginary enemy,” he said.

In common with many countries, the Hungarian government has introduced measures which would be considered draconian in peacetime to combat the pandemic, declaring a state of emergency, suspending parliament — like Candada — and banning the publication of false information “capable of hindering or thwarting the effectiveness of the containment effort.”

While globalist-led countries such as France, which requires citizens to fill in a government form every time they leave the house, have largely escaped criticism, given the extraordianry circumstances of the pandemic, Hungary’s pro-border, anti-multiculturalism government has been accused of sliding into dictatorship.

It is said that the measures against publishing false information, in particular, “could negatively affect the legitimate work of journalists and have a potentially chilling effect on freedom of expression in Hungary”, according to the United Nations Human Rights Commission.

“Taking into consideration the recently identified fake news and its impact (‘Breaking news: Coronavirus vaccine discovered’, ‘Government to put Budapest under lockdown’, etc.) Fake news and deliberate distortions could potentially threaten human lives, and the state should have recourse to sanction them,” Kovács shot back. The minister pointed out the restrictions applied to “false statements of fact” and not “critical opinions”, and that the decision on whether a statement was true or false would be down to the courts, not the government.

It is the case that false claims about bootleg alcohol serving as a coronavirus “cure” have led to hundreds of deaths in Iran, for example.

Kovács concluded his rebuttal with a combative message for both the United Nations and the Council of Europe, namely: “If you are unable to help us in the current crisis, please at least refrain from obstructing our defence efforts.”
