National Guard expected to be deployed “very soon” in COVID-19 response

“They’re great at logistics, distribution, construction. They’re great at anything we need. There’s nothing alarming about what we are considering using the Guard for…It’s not being done because of any increased threat. It’s not being done because of any increased restrictions that the Governor is going to announce. It’s just to help some of the operations that are going on today in a support role,” he said.

Florida man is arrested for 'threatened use of a weapon of mass destruction' after spraying 'bottle of COVID-19' on doors of pet supply store

A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly spraying an unknown liquid from a bottle he claimed contained the coronavirus onto the doors of a Jacksonville pet supply store, and telling workers they had been exposed to the deadly disease.

David White, 50, was charged with 'manufacture, possession, sale, delivery, display, use, or attempted or threatened use of a weapon of mass destruction or hoax weapon of mass destruction'.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an intentional coronavirus contamination at Pet Supermarket on Atlantic Boulevard.

Witnesses at the store told cops the suspect approached the business carrying a container labeled 'COVID-19.'

As he entered the store, White reportedly sprayed the unknown substance on and around the entrance doors.

He also was heard telling employees and customers 'that they were now infected with COVID-19,' according to the release.

“I Have No Ideology. My Ideology Is Health”: Dr. Anthony Fauci on the Tactics of Dealing With the Novel Coronavirus—And Trump

What was your first meeting with the president like? This was in January. Had you dealt with him on other public health issues or was this a new relationship?

Well, I had some interaction. And now I see him for at least an hour or more every single day.

I mean, you’re a New Yorker. He’s a New Yorker. What was your first real meeting with him? Like what was your impression?

He’s an action person. I mean he likes to get things done. He doesn’t want to waste a lot of time. He wants to just get right to it.

Wow, they just HAVE to have Orange Man Bad.

>>8639809 (cont.)

VF: The press has written a lot about your relationship with Trump and the fears that your contradictions of him would force him to either sideline you or fire you. Have you worried about that? How much has that been on your mind?

Fauci: Not at all. I take the tack that I will say what’s true and whatever happens, happens. As a matter of fact, in fairness to him, the president has listened very carefully to what I’ve said. He’s taken my recommendations almost invariably, and he has never really contradicted things that I have recommended to him. He listens. I mean, there’s a lot out there in the press about conflict between the both of us. There’s absolutely none. There really isn’t.

VF: But so, even when he’ll say things like, you know, we’ve got this totally contained, it’s going to go to zero. I mean, that’s clearly at odds with the data that you are seeing. That couldn’t have been an easy conversation between you two.

Fauci: No, but substantively he comes around.

VF: I see. So you just have to stick to your message.

Fauci: Exactly. As I said, I’ll repeat: It’s consistency, which counts.

This post has a January timeline of news headlines to see what happened then,if that is helpful to you. Matches up somewhat to this graphic.

The Writing on the Wall: January 2020 Reporting of COVID-19

COVID-19 was originally a local issue in Wuhan, China, a city with more than 11 million people. Here are headlines and brief excerpts from coronavirus reporting in January 2020. Had we been paying attention earlier, would we be where we are now, some 73 days since The New York Times first reported fears that the virus could spread beyond China? The writing was certainly on the great wall!

2.2 Trillion "we don't really know where it is going".

POTUS just said that.

I tried two ways to calculate the CARES Act distributions from several sources and the text of the act itself. Between $65B to $313B unaccounted for.
