BF Report: Update on USNS Watkins (T-AKR-315)

 

Watkins is now anchored in the Narrows of New York Harbor, approximately 1nm miles up-river of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and approximately 1,000 yards east of the USS The Sullivans Homeport Pier on east side of Staten Island.

 

Destination is currently listed as Naval Weapons Station Earle NJ.

 

According to the write-up in weakipedoa, she "is one of Military Sealift Command's nineteen Large, Medium-Speed Roll-on/Roll-off Ships and is part of the 33 ships in the Prepositioning Program.
