Top Russian doctor who met with Putin tests positive for coronavirus
A top Russian doctor who recently met with Russian President Vladimir Putin tested positive for the coronavirus. Denis Protsenko, a doctor who heads the hospital managing the coronavirus outbreak in Moscow, met with Putin last week to discuss the pandemic. On Tuesday, the Kremlin announced that Protsenko tested positive for COVID-19.
Although Putin met with Protsenko without any protective gear, his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the leader is not concerned about his health. Peskov said, "Everything is fine." Protsenko tested positive but reported no severe symptoms and said he "felt quite well." The doctor announced that he would be quarantined until he recovered but would return to the hospital when he is cleared. The Kremlin has started to measure the temperature of anyone attending events with Putin. As of Tuesday, Russia reported more than 2,300 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 17 related deaths.
