The San Diego Tunnel Task Force, working in conjunction with several federal agencies, uncovered a 2,000-foot tunnel between Tijuana, Mexico, and San Diego, California.
Discovery of the tunnel led to the seizure of 1,300 pounds of cocaine, 3,000 pounds of marijuana, 86 pounds of methamphetamine, 17 pounds of heroine and over two pounds of fentanyl — totaling nearly $30 million.
The major bust came roughly two months after the largest underground smuggling tunnel was discovered by federal authorities, which was also between San Diego and Tijuana.
