I wonder how many people use blood or blood products as a drug.

Black Swan Haven - A support group for donors, friends, and family to real vampires. Donors of all types, family members, and friends of vampires are more than welcome here, as are their vampires. We are here to be a support system for black swans, both new to the community and old. The site includes FAQs, articles and a forum.

A modern-day vampire will use a donor that has provided health certificates which prove that they are absent of blood-borne diseases. The “vampire” may have the blood transfused into their veins. However, there are still those that prefer to suck up the blood directly from the donor in some manner.

There are serious health effects of drinking blood, i.e., haemochromatosis (iron overdose). But I'm having trouble finding any solid info about withdrawal (twoofy sangs) if your blood supply is cut off.

Psychologically-speaking, the craving to drink blood is called haematomania. Most of these effects of possible withdrawal I've read about are psychological and anecdotal. Wondering about the ventilators on this. Is there a physical withdrawal? Potential coma? Respiratory failure possible? Or is the whole ventilator thing a red herring or code for something else?
