For all the talk about "N95 masks", does anyone know what it means?

It means that it removes 95% of particles larger than 3/10ths of a micron. The "N" means that it has no resistance to petroleum fumes.

Is removing 95% of particles larger than 3/10ths of a micron sufficient to protect people who are in constant contact with the disease? Seems… weird.
