> Bob Dylan says religion is bad, but following him is following God.
Those quotes came from an interview where Dylan was defending his faith in Christ’s teachings against an atheist organization who had issued a warning statement to the public saying that Bob Dylan had become a religious zealot who no longer represented the content of his previous songs. I realize now that I should not have posted his quotes outside the context that they were given because they clearly can be misinterpreted.

Having said that, what Bob Dylan said about “religion” in general being oppressive resonates with the Truth.
After all, Christ spoke truth to power, challenging the authorities of his time, the moneychangers, the scribes, and the elite religious oligarchs. Many of his teachings were also anti-religious. For example, when he said that “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath” (Matt 2:27).
Christianity is not a religion that was later corrupted, but the corruption began with its institutionalization as religion by the Roman church, which then became a corrupted temple for the State to gain worldly power and wealth.
