Great question.
If you're a Journo who hates Trump, asking him the Q is a no-lose situation:
Either he admits it's real, and you can brand him as a conspiracy nut (and get the credit for breaking the story), or he disavows and you have driven the largest wedge imaginable between him and his most loyal supporters.
So why not ask???
