I did a little calculating and here's what i came up with.

New York State deaths calculations for 2017 of all adults age 20 and older

were 153,486 which is approx 12, 790 deaths per month. Using this data set from NYS vital statistics

i added together ALL TOTAL #s for each race, gender, and age group from 20 through 85+

Frustrating, cuz they have data in such a way as it is impossible to just see quick totals for the state… they break it down into groups and then you must add ALL groups together to see the full picture

In 2017 New York State had 153,486 DEATHS including ONLY 20 yrs old and OLDER. How does the COVID death rate compare to typical death rates in NYS???

This is approx 12, 790 DEATHS per MONTH.
