PULLMAN, WA - The executive director of the region’s largest 911 emergency dispatch center has abruptly resigned. WHITCOM Executive Director Tara Murker submitted her resignation letter on Monday which was effective Tuesday.
The WHITCOM Board met today and accepted the resignation and appointed Moscow Police Captain Roger Lanier as Interim WHITCOM Executive Director.
Board Chair and Pullman City Administrator Adam Lincoln says Murker’s decision to resign was mutual. Lincoln says the board is confident that the resignation will not affect 911 emergency dispatch.
WHITCOM provides police, fire, and EMS dispatch services for all first responder agencies in Whitman County, Asotin County, the City of Moscow, and the Nez Perce Tribal Police Department.
