Hopefully this will just be a mind blowing light show in the sky, and not something destructive. When they say its coma is 5x the size of Jupiter, and may rival or exceed the size of the Sun at perihelion; it's kind of a big deal.

I would wager that this is THE 'sky event'.

I'm constantly amazed by how bad most peoples' spatial perception and ability to read images and faces is. The whole Ciaramella thing was a disheartening reminder that face blindness is real, and a lot of people are too willing to go along with a premise they like, rather than take the time to discern and analyze the veracity of a claim.
