I've brought up before how the outbreak here in the US seemed to follow major interstate highways, irrespective of population density (though of course higher density areas it took hold and spread quicker).
Now with the latest Russian outbreak, I'm more convinced than ever that it's being spread intentionally via human transport, not simply transmission.
