I am and such “evidence” will result in my firing.
Happy to answer any questions and here to help to my capacity.
Lots of consternation and hand wringing about the expected shit ton of critically ill respiratory failure patients “gonna hit the door any day”. BiPAP machines can convert to full vent, and existing vents can be used for supporting 2 patients (I didn’t know that). Nurses are freaked and want to test anyone sneezing. They did train us up (I are a lowly internist) with refresher for endotracheal intubation and running vents.
Another thing I find weird is walking into work now. It’s almost like at the airport. “Papers please”. Not sure what that’s about.
They present an environment of that expectation.
Nothing definite. Just a weird vibe because all the actions taken do not at all fit with level of preparation. For instance, we are slow as fuck and nurses are taken off shifts cause not enough patients, but they have tents set up outside main building and big ass diesel generators for powering lights & other medical equipment.
