Names are used to ensure a select group are allowed in kitchen.
It's how they keep tabs on each other and who's in control of the dough.
In the past six months I haven't seen many random non-namefag bakers grab the dough.
For years bakers never needed names, now they fiercely defend it with the excuse that it's "needed" in order to bake.
