Is the Alliance united against the Deep State? Or is NATO compromised?
General Radford replaces General Sir James Everard as the 30th DSACEUR, who departs having held the position for three years.
“It has been an honour to work with and live alongside everyone here. The SHAPE community epitomises the powerful benefits of cooperation and conversation,” said General Sir Everard. “You can learn yet something every day, and this creates true understanding and harmony. As a result, the Alliance has shown remarkable unity and constancy of purpose since 2014 and more importantly the Alliance shows the will to keep on adapting to be better still.”
The position of DSACEUR serves as the second in command to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Tod D. Wolters and concurrently as the deputy head of ACO. The role was first held by Field Marshal the Viscount Bernard Law Montgomery, who served as DSACEUR from 1951 until 1958.
