Fox News host Tucker Carlson questioned the wisdom of allowing medical professionals like Dr. Anthony Fauci to “run the country.”

During a Friday night “Tucker Carlson Tonight” monologue that began by describing what has become the “largest and most disruptive response to a national emergency in our lifetimes,” Carlson shifted his attention to the “chief” expert behind “crafting national policy” when it comes to COVID-19 response, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

An “impressive person” who “certainly has the credentials for the job,” Fauci nevertheless has been wrong plenty of times, especially about the current pandemic. As a key example, Carlson played a January 21 clip of Dr. Fauci saying coronavirus was “not a major threat” to the U.S. public.

“To be clear, we’re not attacking Tony Fauci for getting it wrong on the coronavirus,” Carlson said after citing several other examples. “Most people did get it wrong, in and out of medicine.”

Yet, the Daily Caller co-founder noted: “Fewer than two months ago, Antony Fauci told us not to worry about this epidemic. Now he’s demanding that the federal government quarantine the entire country.”

Carlson said that Fauci is now asking for “extreme measures” that could last many months until “there are no more coronavirus infections and no more deaths.”

“We can only guess at the social and economic destruction they might wreak, but it would be profound,” said the Fox News host before spending a few minutes deconstructing the efficacy of various models and predictions, some of which have been “terrible at best.”

“Here’s the problem with getting these numbers so horribly wrong,” said Carlson. “These numbers have driven massively disruptive government policy. Our entire national shutdown is based on the fear that coronavirus patients would overwhelm hospitals. And outside of parts of New York City, that has not happened.”

“More than ten million Americans have already lost their jobs. Imagine another year of this. That would be national suicide, and yet that’s what Anthony Fauci is suggesting, at least.”

Fauci is a “decent man” who “doesn’t want to hurt America,” Carlson contended, but he’s also “not an economist” or even “someone who fears being unemployed himself.” As such, he can look at things “through the narrow lens of his profession.”

After playing a clip of Dr. Fauci saying the shutdowns were “inconvenient from an economic and a personal standpoint,” Tucker concluded:

Pro-Chinese Democrat Wants To Investigate Trump Over Coronavirus

Top Democrat Stephanie Murphy, who last month proposed legislation to reward China for their mishandling of the Corornavirus pandemic, is now demanding that President Donald J. Trump and his administration be investigated for their handling of the pandemic.

Curiously enough, Murphy, in her own press release and statements to Florida based media, claimed that President George W. Bush appointed her as a lead operator in responding to the Avian Flu crisis in 2005. Murphy served in a low-level role on the National Security Council in the mid-2000’s according to our sources.

Scott Powers, who authored an article detailing Murphy’s request, confirmed that he did not demand documentation or evidence to support Congresswoman Murphy’s claims.

Russian aid to Italy, dubbed an ‘influence operation’ by EU-partnered media outfit, is indeed shameful — for Europe

The EU response to Italy's Covid-19 crisis was bungled so shamefully that the bloc apologized as other nations, including Russia, stepped in at Rome's request. Now, journalists are smearing the aid as an “influence operation.”

EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen admitted Thursday that “in the face of the need for a common European response” to the pandemic, too many EU countries “thought only of their own” problems. Brussels will now “mobilize alongside Italy,” she said. With nearly 14,000 dead, surely it’s about time.

The decision to put up a united European front came only after Russia had sent doctors, personal protective equipment and 600 ventilators, among other supplies to Italy, which has suffered more Covid-19 cases and deaths than any other country in Europe. China and Cuba also sent critical supplies to help Italy battle the outbreak — and to their credit, some European nations including Germany and France did too, but not before trying to block the export of essential supplies to their neighbors in need in anticipation of domestic shortages. The bottom line is, there was certainly no “united” European response of the kind Italians might have been expecting.

In the face of such a disastrous failure, one might have assumed that the ensuing outrage would be directed at Brussels for essentially fiddling while Rome burned. Instead, journalists appear to be more interested in the “optics” of allowing Russian help where European help was absent. They could hardly pass up on the opportunity to dismiss Moscow’s aid as nothing more than a PR stunt and a plot to “undermine” NATO either, now could they?

The latest such effort comes from Coda Story — an outfit which incidentally is so focused on publishing stories about Russia that it has actually (quite comically) had to clarify on its website that it’s “not about Russia” exclusively.

Coda Story’s article came hot on the heels of a story in Italian newspaper La Stampa which claimed that 80 percent of Russian aid was “useless” — a suggestion that was gleefully and widely echoed by Western journalists on social media, but not by Italian officials who spoke publicly themselves. Such a stampede of journalists rushing to brand the Russian supplies as useless might lead readers to judiciously suspect that the anti-Moscow media campaign is an influence operation itself. Meanwhile, if you were wondering, the US has reportedly been hijacking planeloads of supplies headed for Europe by offering larger wads of cash to officials at an airport in Shanghai.

Josh Hawley: Bring U.S. Manufacturing Back to Facilitate ‘American Comeback’

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) proposed his phase four coronavirus plan on Friday that would put Americans back to work and bring back American manufacturing to the United States.

Hawley released a proposal that would serve as the outline for a phase four coronavirus bill that would halt the economic damage of the coronavirus outbreak and to revitalize the economy by bringing back the American supply chain to the United States.

The Department of Labor (DOL) announced that the unemployment rate rose to 4.4 percent due to the coronavirus. Hawley’s outline could serve as a template for a phase coronavirus bill to revive the economy and provide a path for America to revitalize its manufacturing sector.

Hawley wrote that his proposal would insulate America from future supply chain crises that might arise in the future.

Hawley detailed in the proposal:

As layoffs mount, the time has come for bold action by the federal government to halt the damage to American workers and position the American economy for a comeback once the nation has defeated COVID19. This effort should include a major initiative to rehire workers now—and to keep them on payroll for the duration of this crisis. And it should include new measures to bring critical supply chains back to this country from China and elsewhere and to encourage domestic production.

The rationale is simple. Workers should not be forced into unemployment because of the government’s health measures prompted by this crisis. Workers should be able to keep their jobs, and be ready to get back to work as soon as practicable.

Hawley’s legislation would offer immediate payroll support for the duration of the coronavirus outbreak by:

Issuing a refundable payroll tax rebate covering 80 percent of employer payroll costs applicable to median wages. This includes rehired workers.

Provide a “back to work” business reinvestment credit to cover the costs of any investment necessary to revive the businesses that suffered from the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Missouri senator’s legislation would also promote long-term growth by bringing back crucial supply chains from China. The proposal would:

Secure medical supply chains by requiring local content provisions for essential industries such as medical supplies and crisis export controls for medical equipment.

Promote onshoring by providing federally backed, low-interest financing for capital expenditures for firms that bring production back to the United States in 2020.

The Missouri senator wrote that the country should be held hostage by China for its supply of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. He wrote:

Never again should the American people find themselves vulnerable to the Chinese Communist Party for critical medical supplies and industrial components in a moment of crisis. Congress must immediately enact new local content requirement rules, requiring that manufacturers of finished products procure higher percentages of their inputs over time from domestic suppliers, for all industries essential to crisis response, chief among them medicine and medical equipment. Such requirements should be coupled with crisis export controls that prevent American firms from sending equipment like ventilators overseas just as they are most needed here at home, as well as generous investment subsidies to assist firms struggling to source domestically from third parties but willing to build out input production themselves.

Hawley explained the need for domestic production, writing:

Firms across a wide range of industries have learned from the recent global supply chain disruptions that their operations are hostage to events far beyond their control so long as they rely on foreign countries for the production of critical inputs. As capital floods to the United States, federal policy should direct that investment toward rewarding firms that take this moment as an opportunity to invest in capital expenditure for new domestic production facilities with federally-backed, low-interest capex financing.

“The moment for action is now,” Hawley concluded in his proposal. “It’s time to end the partisan bickering over special interest giveaways and ideological wish lists. There can be only one priority now: facilitating the American comeback.”

Small Texas City Fines Residents $1,000 For Not Wearing Masks Amid Outbreak

At a moment the Trump administration debates the merits of urging citizens nationwide to don protective face masks when they go outside or to supermarkets, a small Texas border town has gone so far as to legally mandate it, and has authorized police to strictly enforce the new measure.

The city council of Laredo, Texas — in south Texas on the Rio Grande border with Mexico — earlier this week passed a motion allowing authorities to fine residents up to $1,000 for not wearing some form of facial protective covering over the nose and mouth.

The ordinance applies to all residents over the age of five when entering any public building, supermarket, or when doing things like pumping gas. It went into effect on Thursday.

“This does not apply when a person is: engaging in a permissible outside physical activity; that are riding in a personal vehicle; that are in alone in a separate single space; that are with their own shelter group (household members); when doing so poses a greater health, safety or security risk; or for consumption purposes,” the notice indicates.

The council also controversially imposed a blanket curfew on all Laredo residents. All ‘non-essential’ persons are forbidden from leaving their house between 10pm and 5am, punishable by a fine, also an arrestable offense; however, exercising alone is still allowed.

The draconian measures were taken as the relatively small city of 230,000 saw a sudden rapid rise in the number of cases, currently at 65 confirmed COVID-19 positives, including five deaths, according to city data.

Hospitals and health workers in various parts of the nation have over the past week reported shortages of the N95 mask, at a moment the Trump administration is moving to formalize new guidance to recommend that Americans wear face coverings when they venture out in public.

“Because of some recent information that the virus can actually be spread even when people just speak as opposed to coughing and sneezing — the better part of valor is that when you’re out, when you can’t maintain that 6-foot distance, to wear some sort of facial covering,” top US infectious disease official Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday on Fox & Friends.

But Dr. Fauci also sought to clarify that ultimately the goal will still be to not “take away from the availability of masks that are needed for the health care providers who are in real and present danger of getting infected from the people that they’re taking care of.”

DOJ prosecutors on Friday asked for ANOTHER delay in the Flynn case in a status report filing as attorney Sidney Powell fights for a dismissal.

The feds are asking for three additional weeks to comb over documents provided to them by Flynn’s former lawyers.

The status report was filed by prosecutors Friday in anticipation of a scheduled hearing on April 3. Justice Department prosecutors stated in the status report that the documents provided by Flynn’s former legal counsel with Covington and Burling “are voluminous, span numerous topics that arose during Covington’s 30-month representation of Mr. Flynn, and include many pages of sometimes difficult-to-decipher handwritten notes.”

“The government needs additional time to digest this information and any additional information that Covington may provide,” the status report stated. “In order to allow the government adequate time to review the materials that have been produced and to request, receive, and review any follow-up information or documents, the government respectfully asks this Court to allow the government three additional weeks to provide a further status update and, if feasible, a proposed briefing schedule.”

“The FBI and DOJ made up this ‘case,’ threatened to indict his son the next day if he did not plead guilty, hid–and are still hiding–the evidence that shows he is innocent, and they knew that all along,” Sidney Powell told Sara Carter. “Clapper and Brennan and others knew that Flynn intended to audit and clean out the corrupt intelligence agencies. They and the FBI targeted him to destroy with this false prosecution. Every day the government delays in dismissing this persecution is a disgrace for anything called “Justice” and an enormous waste of taxpayer dollars.”

General Flynn formally asked to withdraw his guilty plea in January and filed a motion to dismiss the case, accusing federal prosecutors of “egregious government misconduct.”

Mueller’s thug prosecutors however keep pushing to delay Flynn’s case in an effort to harass him and further put him into financial ruin.

The FBI ‘lost’ the original 302 summary report on the ambush interview with Flynn and altered the 302 report currently in his file.

President Trump reacted to the news of the ‘lost 302 report’ a couple weeks ago and said he was strongly considering a full pardon for Flynn.

“So now it is reported that, after destroying his life & the life of his wonderful family (and many others also), the FBI, working in conjunction with the Justice Department, has “lost” the records of General Michael Flynn. How convenient. I am strongly considering a Full Pardon!” Trump said in a tweet on March 15.

Former U.S proxy SDS prepares to join pro-Assad Syrian Army

The Syrian Democratic Forces have for some time been no longer completely controlled by Washington. Recall that it was the Kurdish formations that for many years were in Syria the main shock ground force of the international coalition led by the United States. The first serious disagreements, as it very often happens, arose as early as mid-2019 financially. According to Damascus, the SDS leaders are confident that the command of the American military mission and General Pat White personally profit from the help coming from Washington.

Moreover, for almost a year now, Kurdish leaders have not been completely satisfied with the distribution of money from oil extracted in eastern Syria. Since recently, the command of the US mission in the region has almost completely abandoned the “services” of the Kurds: by mining, transporting and selling “black gold” with the support of mercenaries from various PMCs.

Serious disagreements between the Kurdish formations and the US military also systematically arise due to the US attitude towards the ISIS cells remaining in the region. Representatives of various American intelligence agencies flirted with the former and current ISIS militants without any embarrassment, drawing them to all kinds of provocations against the Syrian government forces.

The relatively loyal attitude of the Americans towards terrorists gave them a certain sense of impunity: imprisoned militants without constraint demand meetings with the American military, arrange debauches and provocations in places of detention.

One of these incidents received widespread coverage in the local media and ended with the ISIS terrorist riot in the Hasek prison. The “Syrian Democratic Forces” squads were able to suppress the uprising and return the militants to jail independently, without US assistance, which, according to some reports, refused to assist the Kurds.

On the eve, one of the leaders of the Syrian Kurds, Aisha Hasso, made quite a sensational statement about the possibility of including local armed forces in the government of the SAR for a joint struggle against Turkish expansion in the province of Idlib.

Note that the statement of the representative of the Kurdish people is a kind of response to a recent interview with President Bashar Al-Assad, who stated that the Kurdish people’s self-defense units did not want to participate in the fight against Turkey and the militants loyal to Ankara.

Returning to the topic of the voluntary entry of Kurds into the SAA, one cannot but mention the conditions that are put forward by the representatives of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Here we are talking about preserving the existing structure of the Kurdish formation in the north and east of the SAR, which, firstly, does not seem real, primarily because of the strong American influence on individual units of the SDS, consisting mainly of foreign mercenaries.

And secondly, the legal existence of fully independent armed groups contradicts the very principles of Syrian statehood.

Melbourne researchers say an anti-parasitic drug commonly used to combat head lice has been found to kill the virus that causes COVID-19 in the lab within 48 hours.

A Monash University-led study has shown a high dose of the common drug Ivermectin could stop the SARS-CoV-2 virus growing in human cells in a dish.

However, results in a test tube are a long way from results in a human. Many compounds show promise at early stages of research only to fail later. The amount used in the initial tests is also much higher than a standard human dose.

But the results are particularly interesting because Ivermectin has been widely studied in humans and is considered reasonably safe. It is on the World Health Organisation's list of essential medicines.

The scientists are now hoping to secure funding for further trials.

Dr Kylie Wagstaff, from Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, said that because it is going to be some time until a broadly available vaccine for COVID-19 is ready, a compound like Ivermectin which is available worldwide could "help people sooner" if proven effective.

“Because it’s FDA-approved, if we show enough efficacy in pre-clinical work we can move it straight through to humans," she said. "We’re not looking for safety, we’re just looking for efficacy."

But she warned against people trying to access the prescription-only drug prior to it going through human clinical trials, which would require funding.

"Like every medication, it is prescription for a reason. And it’s not approved for anti-viral use at all. It’s definitely still in the experimental realm," Dr Wagstaff said.

The drug, which is used to treat a range of parasite infections, is one of many being trialled in the race to find a cure for COVID-19. Experimental drugs such as those developed to combat malaria, HIV and Ebola are also being tested.

After reports of the drug's success inside a petri dish circled on Saturday, Victoria's Health Minister Jenny Mikakos reminded the public that it would be "lethal" for people to swallow lice medication.

"We have seen people overseas who have heard about potential developments and ingested drugs which have been used in a completely inappropriate way and died," she said at a press conference.

"There’s no reason to be buying lice treatment unless you’re going to be [using it] on your children’s hair."

The important next step is for scientists to determine the correct human dosage for Ivermectin.

It is not known exactly how Ivermectin works against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, but the drug compound is thought to be an inhibitor of one of the cell's natural processes, which scientists believe is hijacked by a number of viruses to get around the immune responses of humans.

Some RNA viruses use the cell's own transport system to send a protein into the cell's nucleus that blocks the immune system from attacking the virus. Ivermectin targets not the virus but the transport system, effectively blocking the virus's own defences.

Radical militants, mainly those operating in the framework of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Wa Harid al-Muminin operations room, carried out several attacks on SAA troops in Greater Idlib over the last few days. These attacks are a violation of the ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey on March 5.

The emergency manager contends that his office has been chasing down 3M distributors for orders only to find empty warehouses or be told that their shipment is on a plane that doesn't appear on any manifest. "We're chasing ghosts here, Tucker."

Moskowitz said he paid for his orders and cannot get a refund but the orders never materialize and 3M distributors told him that the reason is that foreign agents keep showing up with cash and taking the orders. When Moskowitz finally got to speak to 3M corporate, he says they didn't deny it and also revealed they have no internal guidelines to keep foreign sales from happening.

3M CEO Mike Roman denies the allegations but has not specifically addressed the mask issue, choosing instead to go on CNBC and talk about respirators. During this interview, he does not address the charges from Moskowitz specifically but generally denies that his company has done anything wrong.

But despite these protestations, a shipment of 3M N95 masks bound for Germany was intercepted in Thailand and sent back to the United States. This appears to back up the charges that 3M was in fact shipping masks overseas before fulfilling its American orders. Business Insider had the story.

The president has asked 3M to stop sending masks to other countries until our states have received the supplies they need. Roman says that strategy puts other countries at risk. One wonders why he doesn't seem to feel as strongly about the people struggling in his own country, whose orders from 3M go repeatedly unfilled.
