I've never seen it but I've read about it

vent is not meant to be long term, I realize that, it's only used in ER situation and short term, faster the wean the better

not sure I've seen LTAC facilities, have weaned pt.s off vents in hospital setting, dealt with them in home if trach remains, not always the case, depends

have seen a quad with an implant to innervate breathing, muscles strengthened with time, enough for 10 hrs off vent a day, not bad, neat things they can do

miss it sometimes

thank you for discussion of other side of the story

it's not about a man on a vid calling a procedure and vents are suddenly ruled out, scary thought
