Watch shocking moment underground electrics 'exploded' and caught fire in Leeds as 100 homes lose power:

This is the shocking moment the underground electrics of a Headingley street 'exploded'.

Footage captured on Fox Croft Mount in Headingley shows smoke billowing from the manhole before a huge blaze ensues.

Pictures provided to the Yorkshire Evening Post show fire crews on the scene tackling the blaze.

The street was cordoned off and power has been lost to the properties according to a resident.

The scene is now believed to be under control.

Northern Powergrid live map shows 100 homes which have lost power in LS6.

The statement from Northern Powergrid on their website said: "We've had to switch off the power for safety purposes whilst our engineers work on the cables and equipment that serves your area.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding."

Shit…posted the fire story on your post by mistake.

Meant to post this here:

Could the tunnels be Wonderland?

There is an Alice in Wonderland sculpture in Central Park! Located just north of the Conservatory Water at East 74th Street, Alice in Wonderland stands eleven feet tall in bronze, surrounded by the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and a few of her other friends.

The sculpture was constructed in 1959 by José de Creeft under the commission of philanthropist George Delacorte so that children could visit and experience the wonder of Lewis Carroll’s classic story. Atypical of most sculptures, children are invited to climb, touch and crawl all over Alice and her friends. In fact, through the decades thousands of hands and feet have literally polished parts of the statue’s surface smooth.

Yes, am aware. But since we deployed 30,000 troops to Europe last week, I thought I would call attention. Moar DUMBS getting obliterated perhaps.
