I did some chainsaw math - flag height to width ratio should be 1 x 1.9

Took width from pic. (appx 200px)

Sized the pic to Width + Width * 1.9 (380px)

Then added in the stars with the same distance as the visible three rows.

The fit while far from perfect for the stars is undoubtedly better as a 48 star flag than the 36 being proposed. Also covers 1912 - 1959 the years the republic was lost.
