ALert1 is not a call sign. It means an aircraft sitting alert, specifically on a Carrier, where it is ready to be launched in one minute. Basically they are sitting ready at the catapult. Just need to do final checks and get launched. Alert 5 is 5 minute launch. Alert 10…..and so on
