There is a very simple elegant solution to the debating and finger pointing about notables.
Get the Bakertools javascript. (Ver 0.7.2 is the current one). No, I'm just a user, not the author of it.
With Bakertools you can navigate quickly easily through all the posts that have been NOMINATED notable. You can read or not read them, and decide if they are important to you or not.
The editorial function performed by bakers (and the anons who NOMINATE posts and write brief headlines describing them) are still valuable and important.
But in the event you don't agree with a particular baker's judgment, you simply bypass that judgment and cruise through breads seeing anything that was nominated.
