Voting away from the polling place is full of fraud and abuse. how do you know that the person that is actually voting really is the person and they are voting of their own free will and not coerced?
Although I would agree using blockchain AT the polling place in a private would improve protecting the ballots that are cast. Although, it would have a means to coerce votes by bad actors that can force someone to show how they voted and enforce a threat if they didn't vote as demanded.
