most of the arguers are shills. how do i know? because ive been on 2 endchan boards and /qrb/. Guess what? Hardly an fights about notables. The difference? Much lower shill count.

Yes, shills start stirring the shit and pick up at least a few anons along the way. but tbh, it's mostly shills imo. the most successful stuff they do is pick up people who get caught up in the name/fame fagging distraction.
things are complicated in qr by the fact that there are sometimes shilly bakers–although not nearly as often as shills would imply but it happens. Also, shills tend to target non-shill bakers, not their frens.
Last, on /qr/, there are just more nutty people in general. The ones who go to the smaller qr boards tend to be serious 'worker bee' types who want to digg, meme, pray - save the philosophical shitposting for late at night, kek. We had some great discussions on those boards. Still do on /qrb/ at times.

it takes a long time to become proficient baker. no class makes up for actual experience–and the mistakes that are made. every baker has a long and memorable screwup list.

Do not agree that ebakes are better than less-than-perfect bakes. we are all imperfect. Without bakers here, this place can quickly turn into a real shillfest for about 10 hours a day (nights and early am). During that time, dough can be fucked with, all sorts of other problems caused. Happened last Spring–or at least, that was the goal. AM bakers would arrive every day wonderingjust what they would find in the kitchen.
Baking has traditionally just been something anons picked up on their own. but that's very difficult. Bakering school is new, many things get discussed. It is unrealistic tho to expect new or rusty bakers to be up on everything. Also, baking school is a volunteer enterprise for those who teach.
How about you start a meme school? Takes a lot.
Bottom line: Bakers don't have to be perfect. But they do need to be present to keep this place more or less clean and tidy for Q–and suitable for digs, memes, and prayers.
