Spouseanon (physician) and I were talking about that this morning after Cuoma said during his CV update that regular hospitals admissions other than COVID19 are virtually nonexistent. How can that be? Where ARE the heart attacks, the strokes, the diabetic emergencies, the appendicitis, the gi bleeds, the drug overdoses, the attempted suicides, CHILDBIRTH (and the preemies), the exacerbations of the limitless chronic diseases? This stuff didn't just evaporate because of muh coronavirus. What a bunch of bullshit. How stupid do they think we are?
Do YOU believe all sickness and disease and childbirths (as listed in OP) have just evaporated? Of course they haven't. Use Logic. They are lying to us. (But of course, we know that). They NEED you to think all beds in all hospitals are occupied by CV patients, otherwise their CV numbers look even worse than they already do. Spouse anon is ortho so isn't working much - only emergency cases. Broken ankle, broken wrist, couple of hip fractures. Spouseanon's hospital has regular patients admissions (and coincidentally no CV patient admissions). ER has seen 5 positive CV patients total. Nurse supervisor tested positive (one of the 5). All self isolating at home.
Point was – Cuomo and news outlets speaking of normal admissions "virtually disappearing" (Cuomo's words) is just stupid. Censuses and income are down due to stopping elective surgeries - but disease continues on.
