It is, but ever person is at a different point in their path and some are really a bit behind on some things. It will be really, really hard for them. I feel for them, truly. It's going to be painful for them and to see them lose that illusion.
I completely agree, however, the religious don't want to be 'caught up' they want to drag you down into their cell with them. They resist n much the same ways as leftists, for much the same reasons - the ideology is their identity, and anything counter to that is a threat. For leftists, they take it as a physical threat to their person, for the religious, they take it as a threat to their soul. Complete and total demoralization, and no amount of logic or evidence will change their minds because it's only "true belief."
They have to see it themselves in a way that there is no way to deny or close their eyes and pretend they didn't see it.
