I think this is good analysis. A peculiarity of COVID-19 seems to be destruction of the red blood cell's ability to carry oxygen. Others have explained the possible mechanism. In such a scenario I would guess that blood transfusions would be more useful than intubation if the underlying infection was being addressed. My suspicion is that people are getting primed for severe disease via a vaccine or vaccines. You mention bacterial contamination via ventilators, I think a vaccine could do the same: Introduce a pathogen or contaminant. I do think Trump is aware of this, hence a number of interesting/cryptic remarks such as you are noticing.
