Child molestation suspect killed after firing at Pierce County deputies

A spokesperson for the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a male with a shotgun “acting crazy” in the parking lot of Varsity Pizza in the 32600 block of Mountain Highway E. near Eatonville.

The suspect reportedly said “this is my last day on earth, I’m going to make them shoot me," before fleeing northbound on Mountain Highway in a vehicle.

The spokesperson said deputies and detectives were searching for the suspect, who was supposed to be meeting with detectives at 2:00 p.m. regarding a child rape investigation.
