The evidence against Cardinal Pell was weak at best. He was accused, directly after Mass, in the sacristy, having the boy go down on him, while he was still fully in his dress. This is just not possible for numerous reasons.

The sacristy would have been busy after Mass, especially a Mass during which the Bishop said Mass.

The evidence used that "he knew what it looked like" is irrelevant, since many people will come and go before the Mass.

It's highly unlikely that he would keep 4 layers on while being "pleasured".

The accuser's story changed over time, and wasn't consistent.
So while I don't know if he's the Vatican's Flynn, I think he was at least framed.
