It’s hard to overstate the damage Henry Kissinger has done over his decades spent in and out of government, defining and promoting policies that have weakened our country and emboldened its enemies. Ever since his time in the Nixon and Ford administrations, Kissinger has relentlessly championed appeasement of America’s Communist foes, from the Soviet Union to North Vietnam to the People’s Republic of China.
Finally, someone has called him out.
On Monday, President Trump’s former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon denounced the ex-Secretary of State, charging, “The world is going to stand in judgment of you. Because you are just as bad as the devils. In fact, you are worse because you didn’t even believe in the ideology. You believed in the money.”
Kissinger’s Communist chickens are finally coming home to roost. Unfortunately for him, they’re infected with COVID-19.

Chinese Communist Party wants Pompeo out
Tracking official Chinese regime propaganda outlets shows that the Chinese Communist Party can’t stomach an American secretary of state with the guts to call it out.
Regime messaging is dropping hints in English that relations with the US will improve only if American diplomats defy Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Pompeo is removed.
With President Trump playing “good cop” with China, Pompeo is very much Trump’s “bad cop.” The CCP – shorthand for Chinese Communist Party – wants him removed and replaced with a more traditionally compliant secretary of state.
At present, CCP outlets are suggesting that American professional diplomats rebel against Pompeo inside the State Department to render him ineffective – an important indicator that Pompeo is managing to roll back the influence of entrenched careerists who have been soft on Mao Tse-tung’s successors.

Ecuador ex-president sentenced to eight years for corruption
Former Ecuador president Rafael Correa was sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison for corruption during his 10-year term in office, the attorney general’s office said Tuesday.
Correa — who was president from 2007-17 but now lives in exile in Belgium, where his wife was born — was one of 18 people convicted of bribery, the office said on Twitter.
Correa, who has always claimed to be a victim of political persecution and accuses his country’s judges of complicity, hit out at the sentence.
“I know the process and what the judges say is a LIE. They’ve proved absolutely NOTHING. Pure false testimony without evidence,” he wrote on Twitter.
He was found guilty of accepting funds from private businesses for his 2013 election campaign in return for state contracts.
Amongst the others sentenced on Tuesday was former vice president Jorge Glas, who had already been sentenced to six years in prison in a separate case for accepting a bribe from Brazilian construction giant Odebrecht.
The court also banned all those convicted from political “participation” for 25 years.

Maeve Kennedy McKean's body recovered after canoe search
The body of Maeve Kennedy McKean, granddaughter of assassinated presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy, has been found in Maryland.
The 40-year-old and her eight-year-old son were last seen on Thursday evening riding in a canoe off Chesapeake Bay.
After an extensive search operation, police announced Monday that her body had been found in water about 2.5 miles (4km) south of where they had set off.
Officials will continue looking for her missing son, Gideon, on Tuesday, reports BBC.
Mrs McKean was the daughter of Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, the former Maryland lieutenant governor. She worked as a public health and human rights lawyer and was executive director of Georgetown University's Global Health Initiative.
She had been staying with her family at her mother's house in Shady Side, Maryland, when she went missing.

There’s no such thing as “panic buying,” only rational people wisely stocking up on strategic supplies in anticipation of further disruptions
Media outlets, both mainstream and independent, are trying to convince you that all purchases conducted during the coronavirus pandemic consist of “panic” buying. (The phrase is so viral all by itself that I can’t even get my own editorial staff to stop using it.)
This term — panic buying — is thrown around in a presumptive way, hoping you never notice the underlying assumption is false.
When I look around at all the purchasing activity taking place right now, I don’t see any panic buying at all.
What I see is people standing in line, calmly waiting their turn at the checkout lane, engaging in rational transactions to acquire items that are needed to endure a quarantine lockdown.
That isn’t “panic buying,” it’s rational purchasing.

Washington state LEGALIZES facial recognition for police and government agencies, creating a high-tech police state
Washington has legalized the use of facial recognition for law enforcement and other state agencies. This makes it the first U.S. state to legalize the use of such software for government business.
Gov. Jay Inslee signed SB 6280 last Tuesday, March 31, after the Washington State House of Representatives passed it on March 12, by a vote of 27 to 21. The law will come into effect next year.
Prior to the law’s signing, facial recognition software had been in use at the city and county level. However, it had never been formally legalized at the state or federal level.
Limited to identifying the missing and deceased
The new legislation comes with some restrictions. Law enforcement agencies won’t be able to use facial recognition for all kinds of cases. Rather, they can only use it to find missing persons or identify dead bodies.

Russian Air Force destroys enemy command posts, military hardware in new exercise
The crews of Su-24M frontline bombers and Su-30SM multirole fighters from the Baltic Fleet’s naval aviation struck a notional enemy’s ground targets during drills in the east of Russia’s westernmost Kaliningrad Region, the Fleet’s press office reported on Wednesday.
“The crews of Su-24M and Su-30SM aircraft from the Fleet’s naval aviation performed flights to the designated area and carried out precision bombing against full-size targets that simulated the notional enemy’s command posts, engineering fortifications, manpower and military hardware,” the press office said in a statement.
The pilots used OFAB-250 and P-50T air bombs to deliver strikes, dropping them from an altitude of 500 meters to 1,000 meters, the statement says.
“The pilots’ operations were registered by the data recording equipment, the elements of which were installed on combat aircraft and on the ground in the combat employment area,” according to the statement.

Ex-Gov. John Rowland asks for release from probation to devote himself to a new position in prison ministries

Former Gov. John G. Rowland is asking to be released early from the probationary period imposed after his last conviction so he can devote himself more fully to his new job as a regional fundraiser and development director for Prison Fellowship, a charitable organization that minsters to prison inmates.
In legal papers filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court, Rowland says that, as long as his three-year probationary term of supervised release is in effect, he is is prevented by security rules in some states from escorting donors and volunteers into prison systems
Prison Fellowship was founded 42 years ago by Chuck Colson, a staffer for former President Richard Nixon. Rowland, who ministered to fellow inmates during his second imprisonment, is director of development for the Northeast region.
