The Standard
Top of the Standard.
The Standard just might be the epicenter of Meatpacking nightlife, with several late-night hang-out spots at this famous hotel overlooking the High Line. It’s crowded and sceney (make reservations ASAP if you can), but you’ll see why once you start exploring. On the ground floor you’ll find the Living Room, which operates 20 hours a day. Find late-night snacks and tropical cocktails like a Sneaky Tiki here. Outside, it’s the Standard Biergarten for a German-themed round of brew on this year-round patio. There are also beer taps at their Stammtisch tables and Ping-Pong for all. The Top Of The Standard is exactly what it sounds like. This exclusive room with a view has dinner, drinks, and live jazz, whereas Le Bain is the true nightclub on site. The Gansevoort
Another luxury hotel in the area is The Gansevoort. Bring your poshest friends to B on Top, the rooftop nightclub at The Gansevoort. Enjoy sweeping views out the windows and craft cocktails at this see-and-be-seen spot. The Chester is the hotel’s French restaurant that doubles as a nighttime hangout (until 11pm, at least). The Tippler
Take a trip below Chelsea Market to The Tippler, a Prohibition-themed bar with plenty of innovative cocktails to go around. This popular subterranean spot serves memorable drinks for the millennial set, like the banana daiquiri “thank u, next” and The Crown Juul with bourbon and a splash of absinthe. Corkbuzz
Corkbuzz is not where you go to dance, but where you linger over a great bottle of wine. The Chelsea Market location of the popular wine bar boasts an impressive list of wines for all palates, selected by Master Sommelier Laura Maniec. Common Ground
Visit Common Ground for endless pics of the ivy-bedecked skylight inside. This casual bar south of The Gansevoort is crowded weekend in and out, attracting anyone interested in pitchers of margs, sangrias, and Moscow Mules. Spiked coffees and a Baked Pumpkin Old Fashioned are also on offer, and there’s a vine-covered tunnel for selfies galore. Brass Monkey
The Brass Monkey bills itself as “the destination at the very end of the street” on the website. That title has stayed consistent for years, as this casual hangout has proven a destination unto itself. The bar consists of three rooms and a rooftop where you can enjoy a local beer, a glass of sustainable Sancerre, or a Get Crooked cocktail.
