exican Police Chief Unfazed by U.S. Alert; Arrival of Middle Easterners Going North is ā€˜Normalā€™

The ā€œopen bordersā€ crowd would have you believe border security isnā€™t an issue worth worrying about. Never mind the illegal alien crime or the sheer numbers overwhelming our government (and taxpayer) capacities. We at Judicial Watch have had an eye out on the disturbing trend of unvetted immigrants from terrorist nations filtering through our border, and this weekā€™s Corruption Chronicles highlights our latest discovery:

A Jan 8 U.S. CBP Intel Alert warning Mexico of armed Iranians planning to enter the USA through its southern border didnā€™t faze a Mexican border cityā€™s police chief, who confirms the region is full of Middle Easterners, Africans and Asians heading north toward the USA. In a Latin American news report published shortly after the U.S. issued the bulletin, Mexicali Police Chief MarĆa Elena Andrade RamĆrez said, matter-of-factly, that the arrival of people from the Middle East, Africa and Asia as well as the rest of the Americas is ā€œnormalā€ in her California border city of about a million residents. Nevertheless, the chief, who affirmed receiving the U.S. gov bulletin, said she planned to cooperate and coordinate with state authorities to ā€œreinforce security.ā€

he alert was issued in Jan by DHS and largely ignored by the American and Mexican mainstream media. Only a few conservative media outlets in the United States reported about the warning after one obtained a DHS document outlining the threat. The document, issued by the BP's regional intel operation center in Arizona, says that a Guatemalan national may try to smuggle five Middle Easternersā€”including a suicide bomberā€”into the United States through Mexico. The smuggler and four other men and a woman transited through Guatemala and Belize. The Guatemalan, (redacted)t, was deported from Cali in 2018. The Spanish-language article elaborates that American intel officials received the threat after picking up recordings distributed via social media. A Mexicali news story cites Mexican authorities downplaying the situation by assuring citizens that the arrival of people from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and the rest of the Americas is ā€œsomething normal.ā€

This new norm creates a serious national security crisis along the famously porous Southern Border, though Islamic terrorists have long been present in Mexico. We have investigated and reported on it for years, uncovering several operations involving Mexican drug cartels joining forces with Islamic terrorists to enter the U.S. and carry out attacks.

Back in the spring of 2015, Judicial Watch broke a story

+120 Members of Congress Support Unindicted Terror Funding Co-Conspirator

How wide has the scope of CAIRā€™s influence grown among Democrats? As Adam Kredo notes, quite wide indeed. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an advocacy group with deep ties to the anti-Israel movement in America, touted its support among congressional leaders during its 2019 gala conference in November in Washington, D.C. Prominent opponents of the pro-Israel community, including anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.), headlined the conference. A copy of CAIRā€™s conference agenda, obtained by the Free Beacon and published here for the first time, includes well over 100 letters from Democratic and Republican members of Congress, all of whom expressed their support for the controversial organization. Democrats issued the majority of the letters, with only two coming from Republican members of Congress.

Democratic 2020 presidential contenders Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.), and Tom Steyer all penned letters of support. Prominent Democrats such as Omar, Reps. Adam Schiff (D., Calif.), Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich), and Eric Swalwell (D., Calif.) also lent their support to CAIRā€™s agenda''', according to materials reviewed by the Free Beacon.

The Dems include the usual hard lefties, but thereā€™s also Senator Doug Jones, whom, you would think, would avoid this mess. Tom Steyer decided to wade in. As did Governor Northam, whoā€™s gone too long between scandals. Senator Krysten Sinema expressed her support for CAIR. Unsurprising considering the situation in Arizona. And then there are the usual uglies, like Rep. Hank Johnson, Rep. Ro Khanna, Rep. Marcy Kaptur, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Chuy Garcia, and Rep. Betty McCollum. Thatā€™s significant considering CAIRā€™s unindicted co-conspirator status.

Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich sent the letter last month to four members of Congress who asked for details last fall on how CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the terror-finance trial against the Holy Land Foundation and its former officials. He included trial transcripts and exhibits ā€œwhich demonstrated a relationship among CAIR, individual CAIR founders, and the Palestine Committee. Evidence was also introduced that demonstrated a relationship between the Palestine Committee and HAMAS, which was designated as a terrorist organization in 1995.ā€ Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, and trial exhibits show the Brotherhood created the Palestine Committee. CAIR officials adamantly deny any involvement with either Hamas or the Muslim Brotherhood. The Weich letter, however, shows that the Department of Justice has not wavered in its conclusion that the internal records it possesses prove a connection.

It's time to declare Islam as anti-constitutional as it's a theocracy.

DOJ: CAIR's Unindicted Co-Conspirator Status Legit (Snippet)

In one, she reads from transcripts from a secret 1993 gathering of Hamas supporters in Philadelphia where the group talks of creating a new organization with a fairly innocuous sounding name. She read comments from Holy Land Foundation President Shukri Abu Baker explain the new entity should present a benign face compared to existing Islamist groups:

"And let's not hoist a large Islamic flag, and let's not be barbaric-talking. We will remain a front so that if the thing happens, we will benefit from the new happenings instead of having all of our organizations classified and exposed."

In the other, Burns describes an exhibit which shows CAIR listed on a Palestine Committee agenda within weeks of its 1994 creation. In response to a question from federal prosecutor Barry Jonas, Burns said it was the first time CAIR's name appeared in internal Palestine Committee records seized by the FBI:

A. It did not exist prior to the Philadelphia meeting.

'Q. So it came into being after Philadelphia?'

A. That is correct.

After a 2007 trial ended with a deadlocked jury, a 2008 retrial resulted in guilty verdicts on 108 counts. CAIR petitioned the Dallas court presiding over the Holy Land trial to be removed from the co-conspirator list. Their complaint emphasized the unusual nature of making public the names of the unindicted co-conspirators and claimed the move unfairly tarnished CAIR's reputation. That request was denied last summer.
