Your argument is weak but there might be merit to it so I'll add a comment…

 

  1. Your sauce (https://twitter.com/trvrb/status/1223337991168380928) says "No reason to conclude HIV". However, I think its been established in the literature that there is a furin cleavage site in COVID which HIV also utilizes in its mechanisms (could have come naturally or could have been engineered.. although the longer I study the more I'm inclined to believe engineered but I'm not convinced yet).

 

  1. The exact proteins don't match only 3D model "suggest" a convergence to similar receptor binding (3D models are nice but nobody would substitute for mutation studies). Therefore, it just has similarity to gp120. It is not gp120. I don't think this patent would cover this novel sequence. Watch to see who tries to patent in a similar manner.

 

3.The Indian paper really botched the way they decided to release their findings and had to be withdrawn.

 

I think your point is taken… people will profit off this situation.
