Hey any lawfags around to help another anon out with a simple ? (well….)

I am single female living with high risk dad (on 02 and still smokes, 73)

We agreed to add me to the deed - I understand that isnt the usual term but for my fathers sake thats how I phrase it, point is he wants survivorship in case something happens to him, so he can come back if possible after any hospitalization or therapy etc

I work for telecom as a real estate specialist and basically my background is that of a paralegal

Because of COVID-19 My atty cannot arrange to get this done, we cannot meet w/our Atty because of stairs up to her office - yeah ADA blah blah but thats not applicable now because we are running out of time - my dad cant go up a big flight of stairs with his COPD and she cant get use of a conf. Room downstairs in another business that on occasion they would let her use because of her office location on the 2nd fl

She does not feel comfy w/ remote notary.

She is urging me to get another Atty, however, under these circumstances I feel times is of essence

In meantime, the question is, can i draft a new deed myself based on the land records+new ownership and a life estate for Dadanon etc.

Get it notarized, either by co-workers or bank?

File it on land records?

Is that legal?

I just want to draft the document legally and I can arrange notarization and go and do the filing etc.

Of course I want to make sure this is all legal for his sake. I don’t want to create a conflict with who drafts the doc, although I think if I learned enough law that agreements can be written on a cocktail napkin as long as both parties agree, however filing something on land records has its own process.

Been here since day 4 and learn lots, hope its ok to ask for a little help!!!

Worried and Anxious and Terrified of losing my Dad Anon

Embarrassed to ask and scared Anon
