London Pics

Embankment Series continued from previous bread.

This series of pics presented the first problem -- location. Anons found the location based on two key landmarks. First the clock tower in the distant background, Big Ben. Second the tall ferris wheel, The Eye. The images are of a scene in London, UK -- or moar accurately, City of Westminster, the seat of Government both Royal and Parliamentary. Big Ben is a large bell in the clock tower which is part of the Palace of Westminster -- the Houses of Parliament.

Anons also noted other features in the landscape such as the Hungerford Bridge (and its two footbridges), and the roadways adjacent to the River Thames, and so forth.

So location is known. What of the date that these were taken? And what is the subject of this series of images?

Dating these pics depends on features found within the details both obvious and hidden in plain sight.

The subject is also illustrated in like manner. For example, consider a detail that links four of the five pics. See attached graphic.

London Pics

Embankment

The car (and its rear lights) linked the pics of the junction at Northumberland and Victoria Embankment. There are other features that reinforce that linkage and that extend it into other of Q London Pics. Moar on that later.

An example of a significant feature that was hidden in plain sight is the stack on the boat that is moored on the north bank of the River Thames. This boat is an old steamer that has been moored permanently in its location for decades. It now serves as a pub / restaurant.

Around the time that these Q pics were taken, the old steamer was refitted and its color scheme was changed. The deck was red and was changed to blue. The stack was white on top and that was changed to red.

Color schemes are a bit of a theme in all of the Q pics. The Embankment series has a few examples of this. The old steamer is named, The PS Tattershall Castle and its stack can be found with a careful eye peering into the dark and the shadows of the images. Once you see it, you will find it in other images also.

Pic related.

Correction:

The Tattershall's stack was white on top and that was changed to blue.

It underwent another change that I confused here. Apologies. White changed to red.

There are many features that help to date the pics. The Eye's color changes are fairly frequent but you may be onto something there, Anon.

Yes, these pics appear to be linked to PS and LP and their activities with MI6.

To backup the change in the Tattershall (TATT) color scheme see the attached images taken from Street View (Google Maps). Compare and reconcile with the relevant Q pics.

These are further backed-up with other research on the recent history of the TATT and the Embankment itself. Put that aside, for now, and consider another detail hidden in plain sight. That's next post.

Anon, as you may know, click on the image to expand, or download the expanded image to examine with zoom. Or open in anothe rtab / window and likewise zoom. Images are fairly large.

Yes, the Q pics are limited, esp those taken with old security cameras and such. But there is enough for the discerning eye that Anons bring to these matters.

TY fren.

London Pics

Embankment

Finding some of these details in these types of pics can be a big challenge. Patience and perseverance, and then some moar patience and perseverance, and simple bloody-mindedness helps.

For example, the TATT has a neighbor also moored nearby. The RS Hispaniola. Access is gained via a gate and ramp that leads to her gangplank. First find the boat and then the entrance.

At the entrance there are signs. Then along the ramp there are adverts mounted on the handrails. The color of these signs and adverts helps to date the pics.

But also the number.

The Q pics match the Street View images in number (3) and in colors. See graphics.

This detail links two of the pics in the Embankment series. But also it links the two moored vessels along the sidewalk area. And that is the area under surveillance.

The Q pics here match Street View images of MAY and JULY 2014.

Interestingly, it is during that period that the security camera was not on its mount, according to other Street View images. That is a detail that may have significance but here we can see that the pics were captured by Q (either directly or swiping from some other source). The pics are of winter scene not of spring / summer. This would suggest either the tailend of the winter of 2013/14 or the lead end of the winter of 2014/15. Moar on that in later posts.

Here is a Street View image of a closeup of the info board on the TATT that explains some of her history relevant to this series of Q pics.

London Pics

Embankment series

  1. TATT's stack color changed. Gangplanks lifted on New Year's Eve 2015. So Q pics taken before that took place. Pre 2015.

  1. Hispaniola's sign and adverts displayed in Q pics match images from summer of 2014. So Q pics taken during winter months after the 3 adverts appeared on the handrails and before a 4th was added. Note that there are no Street View images that show these 3 adverts before 2014 nor after 2014.

  1. Traffic at the junction connects at least four of the five pics in this series. That suggests a search for other details to link the fifth pic with the others. This is done easily in terms of geographic – as presenting the images side-by-side demonstrates.

What about chronologically?

Moar on that in twomoar posts in next bread (I hope to stay that long tonight).

Bonus image: The TATT is a "castle" and her deck was red. Red Castle. Big Ben shone green in Q pics. Green Castle.

Allspeed Anons.
