Maurice was gay but not openly.
He lived with his partner on Finch Road in Peach Lake NY and when I was a child we would walk to his house (1970's) from a couple miles away in Ct.
He would invite us in to look at artwork and visit his dogs. one of our neighbors worked there and the house was very gothic in it's interior decorating and a little spooky. I do not remember anything way out of the ordinary or disturbing he was always kind.
