Some USN activity off San Diego. Several older USN tracks west of San Clemente Island
Been a long time since I've been up that way but I wonder: Isn't that the ordnance loading dock at the ammo depot?
Somebody want to post the Lat/Long where this is coming from? There are units across the country be willing to pay a visit tonight, real late and real quiet
Notice the rail sidings there to the south, I seem to recall those lead out of ammo bunkers and the line can run up to the pier
Vanderbilt business during gold rush years: "The following year, he formed a company to transport passengers and goods from New York City and New Orleans to San Francisco via Nicaragua. With the enormous demand for passage to the West Coast brought about by the 1849 gold rush, Vanderbilt’s Accessory Transit Company proved a huge success. He quit the business only after his competitors—whom he had nearly ruined—agreed to pay him $40,000 (later it rose to $56,000) a month to abandon his operation."
