Mike Huckabee Sues Florida Sheriff For Threatening
'Social Distancing' Arrest On Private Beach

"Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has filed a federal lawsuit challenging a county government ordinance which has temporarily shut down beaches where his multi-million dollar Florida home is located.
Huckabee filed it with his breachfront property neighbors against Walton County and its sheriff, saying the ordinance is unlawfully preventing them from “being able to use or even set foot in their own backyards”.
The lawsuit is stating violation of the community's Fifth Amendment rights, specifically the "Takings Clause", which states, "[N]or shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

It was filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida and says that local government is denying basic constitutional rights in taking 'social distancing' measures too far — to the point that police are infringing on property rights.
The complaint says that law enforcement officers “have been and are currently patrolling and occupying the private beachfront properties” without permission while threatening “arrest or fine Plaintiffs, their family members, or invitees on their private properties,” according to Lawandcrime.com.
“The Amended Ordinance is arbitrary and capricious. The Amended Ordinance purports to be designed to ‘prevent the spread of COVID-19’ yet it has the opposite effect,” Plaintiffs wrote.
“The Amended Ordinance prevents the Plaintiffs, many of whom own residences along the beach, from utilizing their own backyards to quarantine or stay safe at home,” the filing states further. “The chances of a family or landowner catching or spreading COVID-19 is far less in his or her own private backyard (where no one else should be less they be trespassing) than traveling to the grocery store or hardware store or other essential business.”"

A 23-year-old soldier who was praised for his actions during the Aug. 3 mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, died this week.
Pvt. Glendon Oakley was found deceased Wednesday in his quarters on Fort Bliss, according to post officials. Oakley’s death is under investigation by special agents from the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command.
“At this point in the investigation, foul play in not suspected,” post officials said in a statement. “No further information will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigative process."
Oakley served as an automated supply logistical specialist with the 1st Armored Division Sustainment Brigade. He was a Killeen, Texas native, according to his service history.
Oakley received the Army Commendation Medal in mid-August for his actions during the mass shooting that took the lives of 22 people."

"As the body responsible for maintaining global health standards, the UN-sponsored World Health Organization (WHO) is supposed to adopt an even-handed approach when dealing with all member states, irrespective of how powerful they might be.
It is for this reason that the blatant pro-China bias the organisation has shown in its response to the coronavirus pandemic has raised a number of serious questions about the WHO's handling of the crisis.
Under the terms of the WHO's constitution, which sets out the agency's governing structure and principles, the Geneva-based organisation is charged with ensuring "the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health."
The accusation made by the Trump Administration, that the global body has become "China centric" and has been "biased" in its dealings with Beijing over the pandemic, therefore suggest the organisation has failed in its duty to treat all member states equally.
This has prompted US President Donald J. Trump to threaten to cut WHO funding, a move that could prove disastrous for the organisation, as the U.S. is its main financial backer.
President Trump's low opinion of the WHO was reflected in a hard-hitting Twitter post this week, in which he wrote:
"The W.H.O. really blew it. For some reason, funded largely by the United States, yet very China centric. We will be giving that a good look. Fortunately I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early on. Why did they give us such a faulty recommendation?"
Why indeed?
Mr Trump then repeated the accusations at a White House news briefing on Tuesday. "They called it wrong. They really – they missed the call," the president said. "And we're going to put a hold on money spent to the WHO. We're going to put a very powerful hold on it and we're going to see."
The deepening row between Washington and the WHO comes at a time when the U.S. is having to deal with a worsening death toll while the Chinese are celebrating as citizens in Wuhan, the Chinese city where the virus is said to have originated, begin to return to normal life after experiencing a total lockdown imposed by China's authoritarian regime that has lasted for more than two months."
