Last week, the Army scrambled to set up a 250-bed field hospital in an events center next to Seattle's baseball stadium. This week, the state has decided it doesn't need it.

Yikes. The Kentucky governor isn’t screwing around with the lockdown. Gov. Beshear just announced new draconian measures to stop the spread of coronavirus. From News Channel 5 in Nashville:
Beshear also addressed religious leaders and church members, urging them to stay home this Easter. He said all but about seven churches have agreed not to gather in person this Sunday, and continued to ask all congregations not to gather.
For those who decide to participate in a mass gathering of any type of which the state is notified of, the license plates of those individuals will be recorded and given to health department officials. They will then visit the individuals home bringing with them an order to quarantine for 14 days.
The enforcement does not apply to drive-in churches.

US President Donald Trump has signed an order envisioning penalties for foreign nations that are reluctant to take back their citizens or residents as the coronavirus ravages the US, citing “public health risks.”
“Countries that deny or unreasonably delay the acceptance of their citizens, subjects, nationals, or residents from the United States during the ongoing pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 create unacceptable public health risks for Americans,” the memo released by the White House late on Friday states.
The document instructs acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf to notify US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo if any foreign government is reluctant to welcome back its citizens or residents after “being asked to accept those aliens” and in case “such denial or delay” impedes “operations… necessary to respond to the ongoing pandemic.”

Burning Man, the flamboyant annual party held in the Nevada desert, will not take place this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers have announced. Instead, a "virtual" event will be held.
The Burning Man Project said in a statement that the world-renowned festival has been canceled due to the "painful reality" of Covid-19. Organizers explained they were "heartbroken" but decided to call off the event in order to safeguard "public health and the well-being of our participants, staff and neighbors."

Eyewitness footage captured the moment the stunning fireball bloomed over the site.
