Circumcision is 100% a religious induction ceremony, most just don't realize that it's Mithraic in origin. The Egyptians practiced circumcision, they were described by ancient historians as universally devoted to their beliefs and observed more rituals and practices on a daily basis than anyone else. The Scythian tribes are likely the origin of the practice, deducible from the widespread Mithras symbology found throughout Aryan settled territory from India to Ireland, and Scandinavia to Egypt.
On the one hand, modern circumcision may be seen as a tool to make the male populace more docile and governable, and less swayed by their primal urges.
On the other hand, from a mystery school perspective, it's like anyone circumcised at birth is unknowingly inducted into the Mithraic tradition. The core magical beliefs being centered around retaining and building sexual energy through kundalini meditation, and directing the orgasmic energy inwards and upwards towards unlocking the souls potential, rather than the base & animalistic spilling of seed.(This is why porn is used as a tool to debase whole societies and divert their energies away from ascendant practices)
I believe there's overwhelming evidence that much of the worldwide symbolism we see is actually derived from physical events witnessed in the sky of our ancestors and every layer of interpretative meaning ascribed to them has either intentionally obscured their true nature, or taken on a life of its own into branching schools of teaching that peddle their own flavor of self indulgent rituals justified by their assuredness in the apostolic succession of their divine scriptures.
