Game Theory - Britannica
>Game theory, branch of applied mathematics that provides tools for analyzing situations in which parties, called players, make decisions that are interdependent. This interdependence causes each player to consider the other player’s possible decisions, or strategies, in formulating his own strategy. A solution to a game describes the optimal decisions of the players, who may have similar, opposed, or mixed interests, and the outcomes that may result from these decisions.

Simple enough explanation for most… but I like to know how things work and the structure of things, so lets keep digging. Reading further we find that game theory is applied to all sorts of situations.
>Game theory has been applied to a wide variety of situations in which the choices of players interact to affect the outcome. In stressing the strategic aspects of decision making, or aspects controlled by the players rather than by pure chance, the theory both supplements and goes beyond the classical theory of probability. It has been used, for example, to determine what political coalitions or business conglomerates are likely to form, the optimal price at which to sell products or services in the face of competition, the power of a voter or a bloc of voters, whom to select for a jury, the best site for a manufacturing plant, and the behavior of certain animals and plants in their struggle for survival. It has even been used to challenge the legality of certain voting systems.
Ok… so now we know that game theory is the applications of mathematics to a given set of circumstances in the attempt to predict the most probable outcome based on interactions by the players… but, how is it structured?
The Matrix
>Matrix, a set of numbers arranged in rows and columns so as to form a rectangular array. The numbers are called the elements, or entries, of the matrix. Matrices have wide applications in engineering, physics, economics, and statistics as well as in various branches of mathematics. Historically, it was not the matrix but a certain number associated with a square array of numbers called the determinant that was first recognized.|

So the matrix IS real and we ARE all living within one or multiple matrices.
Moves & Countermoves
So what does this all mean to the average person? Well, lets use a simple example to illustrate. Have you ever played the game connect four? If you haven't, the goal of the game is to connect four positions on the board in a line. Neither player knows the move of the opposing player during game play, however, in some situations a player can force the opponent to make a move. (I.e. to block your success)
But what if you could know the opponents most probable moves before they made them? Would you have an advantage over your opponent? Is it possible to feed data into a machine and have it spit out the most probable outcomes based on the data? Where does the data come from?

The age of supercomputers & the internet of things
Supercomputers posses the ability to process massive amounts of data, but where does the data come from? (You) me and everyone that interacts with anything connected to the net.
Analytics
How are trends predicted? How are analytics used in sports? the stock market? Which way the herd is moving? War?

>Q
>Morpheus:The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work… when you go to church… when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
>Neo: What truth?
>Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.
